Partner Bridget BurnsWhite and Bright, LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Bridget Burns as its newest associate attorney at the firm. Ms. Burns will add to the firm’s growing trust, estates and probate practice, specifically focusing on complex estate plans, probate, and trust administration. “Bridget is an experienced attorney who will be a great addition to our expanding trusts and estate practice,” said Fred Pfister, Managing Partner of White and Bright. “We are extremely excited that she will be joining us and providing value for our clients.”

Throughout her 11-year legal career, Burns has accrued experience representing clients in all aspects of trust and estate law, including complex estate plans, probate, and trust administration. She also has significant expertise in dealing with asset protection, including offshore and domestic strategies for privacy and lawsuit protection. In addition to serving the firm as a premier estate planning attorney, Burns will use her prior experience with asset protection to start White and Bright's asset protection practice. This new role will greatly expand the ways in which White and Bright is able to cater to the needs of its clients and most strategically protect their interests.

Prior to joining White and Bright, Burns was an associate attorney at boutique law firm, specializing in complex estate plans, asset protection, offshore trust accounts, and probate and trust administration. She even served as the head of the asset protection department. In addition to assisting clients with all basic and advanced estate planning needs, Burns also helped clients with both offshore and domestic strategies for privacy and lawsuit protection. She originally began her career practicing business law, including complex litigation, where she handled multiple trials at both state and federal levels, as well as arbitration and mediation.

Originally from Arizona, Burns moved to San Diego to attend the local university on an academic scholarship. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of San Diego and a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law, where she served on the editorial board of the Environmental Law Journal. After finishing law school on the east coast, Burns returned to the west coast to begin her legal career. She continues to thrive in San Diego and has gained a good reputation amongst her peers.

Despite her busy schedule, Burns loves to give back to the community; she currently serves on the Board of Women's Empowerment International, a non-profit dedicated to financially empowering women who are in severe poverty. She is a member of the North San Diego County Bar Association, the San Diego County Bar Association, the Lawyer's Club of San Diego, and the State Bar of California.

Burns lives in San Marcos with her husband, son, and dog, Indy, who is a terrier mix. She enjoys spending her free time exploring the outdoors with her family. When she's not out adventuring, Burns expands her mental horizons by reading. We are thrilled to welcome Burns to our team, and we are incredibly excited for the growth she will bring to White and Bright, LLP.
