White and Bright, LLP, a Southern California-based real estate law, estate planning, and probate law firm, has announced the promotion of Bridget Burns, who specializes in asset protection, estate planning, and probate, from senior counsel to partner. Ms. Burns, who joined the firm in 2021, continues to work from White and Bright's Escondido office. At only 18 months into her career with White and Bright, Burns is one of the fastest-rising partners at the firm.
According to Fred Pfister, a White and Bright partner, this latest promotion is part of White and Bright's forward-thinking strategy for continuing measured growth, which entails elevating attorneys with proven track records to senior roles - while expanding core practice areas.
"Bridget's dedication to her clients and passionate commitment to fulfilling White and Bright's mission of delivering a best-in-class client experience are just a couple of the many reasons she has been promoted to this level," said Pfister. "She is an expert at efficiently getting estate plans drafted and providing trust administration services, and she knows instinctively how to focus on the issues that matter the most, time after time."
Throughout her 11 year legal career, Burns has accrued experience representing clients in all aspects of trust and estate law, including complex estate plans, probate, and trust administration. She also has significant expertise in dealing with asset protection, including offshore and domestic strategies for privacy and lawsuit protection. In addition to serving the firm as a premier estate planning attorney, Burns used her prior experience as an estate planning attorney working with asset protection to start White and Bright's asset protection practice, which has grown immensely since its inception.
Prior to joining White and Bright, Burns was an associate attorney at a boutique law firm, specializing in complex estate plans, asset protection, offshore trust accounts, and probate and trust administration. She began her career practicing business law, including complex litigation, where she handled multiple trials at both state and federal levels, as well as arbitration and mediation.
Originally from Arizona, Burns moved to San Diego to attend the local university on an academic scholarship. Burns holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of San Diego and a J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she served on the editorial board of the Environmental Law Journal. Despite her busy schedule, she loves to give back to the community; she currently serves on the Board of Women's Empowerment International, a non-profit dedicated to financially empowering women who are in severe poverty. She is a member of the North San Diego County Bar Association and the Lawyer's Club of San Diego.
Burns lives in San Marcos with her husband, son, and dog, Indy, who is a terrier mix. She enjoys spending her free time exploring the outdoors with her family, as well as reading. We have been very lucky to have Burns on our team. She has sparked so much growth in the firm already, and we can only imagine what she and the future will bring to White and Bright, LLP.
